The trailer for the action comedy movie "Jackpot!" produced by Amazon, starring Simu Liu and Awkwafina, who co-starred in the Marvel movie "Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings" (2021), and John Cena from "Fast & Furious: Fire Boost" (2023) and "Argyle" (2024), has been released. "Jackpot!" is directed by Paul Feig, who has worked on the reboot of "Ghostbusters" (2016) and "A Simple Favor" (2018). Feig is known for creating works with black humor, so the trailer is not easy to understand. Awkwafina and Cena appear and say, "Watch the trailer until the end! You'll have a chance to enter the official Jackpot! We're sure you'll like it," and then the trailer begins.

The year is 2030. Katie (Awkwafina), who has come to Los Angeles to become an actress, visits the audition venue, where only blonde women are participating. When she is about to attend the audition, thinking, "So this is a reboot of Barbie," a notification rings from the mobile device of the "Grand Lottery," a competition where huge prize money can be won, saying, "Katie Kim, you are the new prize winner." Auditioners swing chairs and throw knives, trying to kill Katie. When Katie runs outside asking, "What happened?", Noel (Cena), an agent who protects the winner, rushes to the scene in a car.

With Bonnie Tyler's hit song "Hero" playing in the background, Katie's car races through the city. Cars, motorbikes, and people are all chasing Katie and her friends. Noel explains to Katie, "Katie, you won the lottery. Everyone who has a losing lottery ticket is going to kill you before the sun goes down and get their money, legally." Katie understands the situation. "Okay, that's not murder," she replies, but Noel smiles and says, "That's not how it works in California, it's a great opportunity." At the dojo, some strong-looking men attack Katie, but she quickly dodges them. Noel removes the man's black belt and throws him away. Sometimes he whips it, hitting him hard in the buttocks and groin. Even when the car is set on fire, Noel speeds up and crashes into a building.

"If you kill me, you get all the prize money. How can I trust you?" Katie sometimes doubts Noel, but the car with the two of them heads for the goal. But then Noel's rival agent, Louis (Simu Liu), who is also after Katie's bounty, stands in their way... The number of pursuers increases, and Noel is captured at one point, but will Katie be able to rescue Noel? And will the two of them be able to save their lives and get their bounty? Katie also tries to transform herself with the latest machine, but how effective will it be?

After the movie trailer ends, Awkwafina and Cena appear again. "Congratulations! You've officially been invited to the Jackpot! Jackpot! We'll give you a big gold belt and 10 years' worth of B-Dubs chicken wings. Enter on this website!" she says, pointing to a link to a real website. It seems that they are holding a giveaway in collaboration with the restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings. When Awkwafina expressed concern about the risk to her life, asking, "Does this project have the same rules as the movie?", Cena concluded by saying, "I hope not. Our legal team would never tolerate murder."

"Jackpot!" will be available to stream in the US on Amazon Prime Video from August 15, 2024.
