Amaran Movie Review: Sivakarthikeyan starrer 'Amaran' is the latest movie. Sai Pallavi is the heroine. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Sony Pictures International Productions, God Bless Entertainment along with world leader Kamal Haasan, R. Produced by Mahendran. It is a biographical action film. It was released in Telugu and Tamil languages on the occasion of Diwali. And how is this movie?
Amaran Movie Story:
Mukund Varadarajan (Shiva Karthikeyan) is from Chennai. Indu meets Rebecca Varghese (Sai Pallavi) in college. Both fall in love. However...Mukund's father and family members of different religions did not agree to the marriage at first because he had joined the army. Itu Mukund's mother also shows disinterest in Indu's religion at first.
How did Mukund convince Indu's father and family members? After joining the army, how did he grow up to be an anarchist? How did he suppress the terrorists, especially in the Kashmir Valley? How did he lose his life? How much did she think about her husband during this journey? What did Mukund say to her? How is their relationship? It should be seen on the screen.
Amaran Movie Analysis:
It is not difficult for the average audience to imagine what the story and narratives will be like in a biographical action film, even in the backdrop of the army. There is enough heroism in the scenes where the soldiers step down on terrorism. It is known that there will be action episodes. Same in 'Amaran'! But... the emotional angle, especially the connection between Mukund and Indu surprises. Unknowingly we shed tears by ourselves.
'Amaraan' started as the story of an average army officer. A middle-class mother says no to whether her son will join the army. That's the same in this movie! Mukund-Indu's love story doesn't seem new either. 'Major' shades are somewhat visible. But... Sai Pallavi's expressive performance makes up for the shortcomings. The peak level point in this movie starts from the pre-interval. That terrorist attack made me forget the story till then and watch that action episode. After the interval, the scenes between Mukund and Indu are more touching than the army operations and the events in the Kashmir valley.
The condition of the family members was shown in the earlier movies in the background of the army. However... Sai Pallavi's acting set 'Amaran' apart from the other films. Whether it is when the husband comes home or when she learns that the husband has passed away... Sai Pallavi's performance in those scenes shows how great an actress she is. It must be said that Sai Pallavi's performance is the reason why the audience came out of theaters with wet eyes and heavy hearts. No doubt about it.
Director Rajkumar Periasamy has succeeded in making the audience feel the emotion of Sai Pallavi (the family emotion of army officers). So when they come out of the theatre, they get excited. The director got good support from music director GV Prakash Kumar. The songs are ok. But, Jeevi showed his talent in background music. When the news of Mukund's death is known to his wife, the silence of the audience stops for a moment. When Sai Pallavi cries, the audience in front of the screen sheds tears. The cinematography is good. Kashmir has been captured well. The production values are top-class.
So far Sivakarthikeyan's films have been a leap. This movie is another height. He came out of stories like Boy Next Door, Local Youth, and Commercial Formula. Played an important role. Mukund has shown variation in terms of looks to suit different stages in life, Parineeti as an actor. Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, Geeta Kailash, and others have done justice to their roles. Acted according to the scope of those roles.
Amaran...a fine tribute to our soldiers who fight for the nation away from family and fun. The film shows not only the sacrifices of the soldiers but also the moral support given by the family members to the people who joined the army. It is a film that leaves the audience with a heavy heart.
