Kiran Abbavaram's KA Movie Review: Kiran Abbavaram is one of those protagonists who entered the industry without any background. The first two films as the hero were successful. Then there were hits and flops in his journey. But... After back-to-back flops, Kiran Abbavaram starrer 'Ka' took a break and tried to reinvent himself. It hit the theaters on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali. The shows were premiered the night before. So, how is this movie? How is Kiran Abbavaram in this? If you see...
KA Movie Story:
Vasudev (Kiran Abbavaram) is an orphan. He goes as a postman (temporary) to Krishnagiri where it gets dark at three in the afternoon. There he mingles with the people of the village. He falls in love with Satyabhama (Nayan Sarika), the daughter of postmaster Rama Rao (Achyut Kumar). When you think everything is fine, unexpected events happen. Someone locks him in a room.
Who locked Vasudev in the darkroom? Why does the masked man call him a murderer? Who was the masked man who asked him questions? Who is behind the early morning disappearance of girls in Krishnagiri? Who is Radha (Tanvi Ram) in the dark room next to Vasudev's room? Did Vasudev come out of that room? Or? The answers to the questions should be known by looking at 'K'.
KA Movie Analysis:
Sandeep, one of the directors of 'Ka', said at the trailer release event that it is important that ideas are not old or new. True... Sometimes a new story may not be presented properly. Some can take old stories and create miracles on screen. What did the director duo Sujith - Sandeep do in the movie 'Ka'? If you see...
After 'Ka' came out of the theatres, everyone felt the feeling of seeing a new climax. A contented, happy audience. But how much is new in this story? If we see... that climax is seen before our eyes. Then the story comes to mind. The story is set in the eighties. That periodical touch added a new elegance to the scenes. But, the story is not new.
Some stories and movies have come out in the background of women trafficking. From Krishnavamsi's 'Gulabi' to Nani's 'Krishnarjuna Yuddha'... there were films before and after them. Women trafficking is the main topic in 'Ka' too. But, is that the only main point? I mean... no. The way the story is handled till the woman trafficking is revealed is good. Sujith - and Sandeep, who were introduced as directors, started the story very interestingly. The masked man arresting the hero in a dark room, and asking questions, the timeline was interesting. They struggled to maintain that suspense. Ridin' King Slay's comedy doesn't work out. Some over-the-top, routine dialogues in between hurt the flow. Back-to-back songs!
In this movie, which started as an investigation thriller, the love story breaks in the middle of the investigation/suspense. Falling and rising came to rest. There was a twist that increased the interest in the second half. Suspense was maintained till the end. The ending however gives a new feeling.
We imagine 'Ka' without Sam CS background music. He was on duty at the start of the movie. Didn't go down until the end. Even if the back-to-back songs break the flow... his tunes are good. The Jatara song Bani brings joy. The background music greatly elevates the heroism. Especially the action episodes before the climax are good RR. Even the design of that episode! Cinematographers Vishwas Daniel and Satish Reddy's Masam work will be seen on screen. The nighttime scenes were shot very well. Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy did not compromise on cost and construction.
It can be said that 'Ka' means Kiran Abbavaram 2. O. The twist in the story should not be revealed but... as an actor, he did an experiment with this film. Shades of gray are shown. They tried to get out of their comfort zone. The difficulty is evident in the action episodes. Nayan Sarika has an expressive face. She did 100 percent justice to her role. Tanvi Ram played a key role in the story. Achyut Kumar, Sharanya Pradeep, Annapurnamma, Ajay, Bindu Chandramouli, and others have done justice to their roles.
Ka... a movie that will be liked by the audience who likes new types of stories. It is a screenplay-based film. The concept of women trafficking is not new. But, they tried to tell a new story around that point. Although the first half is a roller coaster ride... the second half holds the suspense. The climax twist is liked by all. That ending gives satisfaction. Kiran Abbavaram 2. O - Reincarnation of Kiran Abbavaram as hero (remember this, you will understand after watching the movie).
