Singham Again Movie Review: Bollywood director Rohit Shetty has a distinct style in making commercial films. He set a mark. Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty combination also have a separate fan following. He received huge hits with 'Golmaal' and 'Singam' franchises. Now the movie done by both of them together is 'Singham Again Movie'. It stars Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. Kareena Kapoor played the role of Singham's wife. How is this movie?
Singham Again Movie Story:
Omar Hafeez (Jackie Shroff) is arrested by Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn). After that, the Home Minister (Ravikishan) will form the Shiva Squad under the leadership of Bajirao.
Bajirao Singham's wife Avani (Kareena Kapoor Khan) is kidnapped by Omar's grandson Zubair, known as Danger Lanka, two years after Shiva Squad was formed. Singham Again Movie Analysis:
What is the style of the movie for the audience who saw 'Singham'? What are the characters? is an idea. Even if you see 'Simba' and 'Suryavanshi' together! Rohit Shetty brought Singham and Simba in 'Sooryavanshi'. The audience thought it was okay. Now when 'Singam Again' with the trio was announced, many expected an action film. Everyone was shocked after the trailer was released!
If you look at the trailer of 'Singam Again'... Rohit Shetty doesn't tell the police story. Ramayana was given more importance. It's the same in the movie! The audience recited the well-known Ramayana over and over again, comparing Singham, Simba, Satya, and Avani with the characters in Ramayana. Due to that comparison, the grip on the story and the narrative has decreased. Rohit Shetty fails to do magic in terms of screenplay. As a director, he struggled to make the scenes interesting. Rohit Shetty's Mark Fights, Action Sequences, and Comedy Scenes are reduced in 'Singam Again'.
There is nothing wrong with Rohit Shetty writing this story to show the lion-like police officer as Sri Ram. But... at every step, it seems that this story does not need Ramayana. It is understood in every scene and every turn of the story that Ramayana has been forced into the story. Ajay Devgan as Rama, Ranveer Singh as Hanuman, Tiger Shroff as Lakshmana, Arjun Kapoor as Ravana... The screenplay is like a patchwork quilt as if scenes were taken for each character's introduction and elevations... The movie is not impressive.
Rohit Shetty's films are missing their mark in terms of commercial style and formula. Mythology movies have become popular recently. If you try to bring Ramayana to this period for a hit, it will be difficult. Both Deepika Padukone's intro and Kareena's scenes about Ramayana were too boring.
Rohit Shetty's success as a director is... in convincing all the stars to make this film, in showing Arjun Kapoor as Ravana! Arjun Kapoor has shot all the scenes in an extraordinary manner. As the fights and action scenes are poor, so is the re-recording of Ravi Basrur of KGF and Salar fame. Cinematography is suitable for commercial films. Arjun Kapoor is good in scenes. There was no compromise on cost. Every scene is on a grand scale.
Ajay Devgn is not new to playing the role of a lion. Once again, he went on in his usual role. Kareena Kapoor's role is the best example in recent times to say that heroine roles in commercial movies are like curry leaves in curry. The whole story revolves around her character. But, there is not a single proper scene for that character. Her performance is also limited. Ranveer Singh as Simba laughed in some scenes. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are okay. After watching the introduction of Deepika Padukone, how will you portray the character of the police? Doubt that. Arjun Kapoor has done well. He also shot the scenes well. Other artists are okay.
Singam Again... This is Rohit Shetty's Ramayana. It is like watching a documentary, not like a commercial movie or a khaki (police) story. Despite the big stars of Bollywood, heroism has not been elevated. Rohit Shetty irritated the audience by taking Ajay Devgn's every scene in slow motion as if it were an introduction shot. This movie will be liked only by his die-hard fans. If that goes without any expectations! It is like a lion throwing its claws at the general audience.
